The Heart of Lovina’s Kitchen

The Heart of Lovina’s Kitchen

I grew up Amish in southern Iowa, in one of the most traditional communities there is. We had no electricity, and everything was made by hand — because that was "just how it's always been."

I left before I was baptized into the church, right after I turned 18. I didn't have a plan when I left — I just knew I wanted to choose my own life instead of promising to follow the rules of the church for the rest of it.

Years later, I randomly started posting videos about that childhood — the food, the faith, all of it. People wanted to know everything. So I started cooking on camera, the way my mom taught me. Now millions of you watch me cook every week, and I still can't quite believe it.

This store is an extension of that. The cookbook is 230+ recipes from my childhood, written down the way I was taught to make them — by keeping it simple but delicious.

Thank you for being here, and for supporting the small family businesses I get to work with along the way.

Warmly,
Lovina
